The Trojan war was started against the city of Troy after Paris stole Helen from her husband Menelaus, the king of Sparta. The battle had begun by Greek armies. The Achaeans were accompanied by the different warriors and kings. The three famous fighters were Achilles with his troops, Agamemnon which was the brother of Menelaus and Odysseus, the king of Ithaca and the husband of queen Penelope. It was all because of Helen's decision to be with Pairs even though it was not legal and right.
When it comes to the comparison of Helen and Penelope, the two were both Greek women and were married to kings. But tho two have contrast comparison on how they handled love. With this kind of thinking, Penelope would be the protagonist because she was the wife of Odysseus who waited for almost two decades for him to return home to he from the battle in Troy. As the time passed by, Odysseus had already returned to home. Since it was a long time that Odysseus and Penelope did not see each other, Penelope has doubts with the identity of her husband. That's why she decided to challenge her suitors on bow and shoot and shoot it through twelve axeheads. She did this not to find the best wooer but to find which one was Odysseus. Even though when the time that her husband was not yet around still she was able to manage her son, Telemachus by her own. She remained loyal and devoted to Odysseus. While Helen would be appropriate to be the antagonist became selfish and followed what she wanted. The escape of Helen to her husband just to be with Paris stated the Trojan war. Helen knew the massive consequences that could happen. Like for instance, their is the possibility of tragedy and many people would be greatly affected.
